Industrial robot control systems

Customized robotic control for industrial automation

Industrial robot control systems are control solutions used to control industrial robots accurately and reliably within automated production processes. These systems form the link between the mechanics of the robot and the functional logic of the overall process – from positioning and gripper control to safety and synchronization.

Kwadrant IA provides high-quality, customer-specific control systems for industrial robots. Our solutions provide smooth integration of robotics into existing or new production lines, with maximum control over speed, precision and interaction with other machines.

Industrial automation with international standards

Industrial automation requires more than just a correctly constructed panel. We start with the architecture of the system and make conscious choices in component selection, standardization and scalability. By fully mastering engineering, panel construction and integration, we realize control systems that perform reliably in demanding industrial environments. From modular construction to international compliance, every detail is focused on quality, longevity and manageable Total Cost of Ownership.

We do not build standard solutions, but technically sound systems that match the complexity of modern mechanical engineering.

Applications of robot control in industry

Industrial robots are widely used for tasks such as pick and place, palletizing, welding, assembly, inspection, packaging and handling of heavy or precise parts. In all these applications, stable and error-free control is crucial for process efficiency and reliability.

Kwadrant IA control systems provide streamlined control of the robot as well as communication with peripheral equipment such as vision systems, conveyors, grippers, safety components and central PLCs. This makes it possible to coordinate multiple parts of the process in real time, without delay or margin for error.

Custom engineering and panel building

Kwadrant IA develops control panels fully tailored to the mechanics, task distribution and interface requirements of the robot setup. Whether standalone robots or robot cells integrated into a complex line – we provide the right electrical control, network connectivity and security.

Our engineers work in EPLAN and build the panels with industrial components, always paying attention to overview, modularity and maintainability. We integrate safety relays, emergency stop circuits, drives and I/O extensions tailored to the complexity of the application.

A robot never works alone. Our systems ensure accurate timing and communication between the robot and the rest of the process. Think of automatic invocation of positions, appropriate gripper actions per product type, or starting follow-up operations once a cycle is complete.

Real-time data exchange creates smooth cooperation between man, machine and software – essential in high-performance production lines.

We integrate comprehensive safety functions, such as zone separation, light curtains, torque monitoring and safe stops according to applicable standards (e.g. ISO 10218). Operators get insight into status, messages and error codes via a clear HMI. Operating modes such as manual, automatic or maintenance can also be easily selected via the panel.

Robot lines change – whether for product changes, expansion with an additional robot, or new functionalities. That’s why we design our systems to be modular and flexible. New functions can be added without a complete rebuild. This makes our solutions future-proof, even in dynamic production environments.

Frequently asked questions about industrial robot control systems

What exactly does a robot control system do?

A robot control system controls the movements and actions of an industrial robot based on preset programs or real-time data. The system ensures correct positioning, coordination of grippers or tools, and safe interaction with other machines or operators. In addition, the system controls communication with vision systems, sensors and the central control system.

Our control systems for industrial robots are used in a variety of industries, including mechanical engineering, logistics, food processing, metalworking, packaging lines and plastics production. Applications range from pick and place and assembly to inspection, packaging, palletizing and handling of heavy or fragile parts.

Yes. We design the complete control solution around the robot, including panel construction, cabling, interfacing with existing PLC systems and secure communication with peripheral equipment. Whether it’s a retrofit or an expansion of an existing line, we provide seamless technical and functional integration.

Our systems feature safety components such as emergency stop circuits, safety relays, zone separation, light curtains and safe stop functionality. We build according to applicable safety standards, such as ISO 13849 and ISO 10218, and provide clear operator interfaces to safely switch between operating modes.

Yes, we build control solutions that can coordinate multiple robots within a single line or cell. The systems provide synchronization, task distribution and communication between robots and with the rest of the plant. This is especially valuable in automated assembly, packaging or palletizing processes.

Absolutely. We provide support for commissioning, training of operators and maintenance personnel, as well as assistance with malfunctions or expansions. We also provide full technical documentation, electrical schematics and support with any optimization of the robot line. Our systems are built to last and to grow with your production.
